Using internet explorer my browser window closes without any warning or any reason offered whenever I try to load any wiki page either at wikipedia or at any other wiki-type site. It doesn’t do this at any other sort of web page, only at wikis. What’s going on and how can I fix this? I know that IE sucks but I’m interested fixing the actual problem rather than in just being told “Use another browser.” except perhaps as a temporary workaround.
1) It’s all wiki sites, not just wikipedia.

2) The wiki sites are not restricted, no. Thanks for the idea.

3) I am the sole user and it’s my personal desk top.

4) I haven’t tried the javascript off trick yet but thanks for that idea.

5) I was cleaning my C drive prior to this starting to happen because it was getting crowded. I deleted a piece of software (Netgear) which came with my wireless adapter because I thought I didn’t actually need it for access. Turns out I did need it so I had to reinstall it and separately reinstall it’s driver. All net works fine now but the wikis so I’m wondering if this is really related or not.

6) I may have also deleted one Adobe product which was listed as not having been used in a year but I still have Adobe Reader 9.1 and Adobe Flashplayer 10 Active X.

7) I neither removed nor changed anything else.
There’s no virus as far as I can tell.
