do i have to perform maintenance functions on both accounts?

By Talker

I have two accounts on my computer. One is mine and I guess it’s administrator, and the other is my brother’s. I own the computer and my brother just an additional user. When I perform disk cleanup, defragmentation, go to control panel then internet options then delete all those temp files and cookies and form data etc. etc., go to tools on firefox and then clear private data … DO I HAVE TO DO ALL THAT STUFF ON BOTH ACCOUNTS OR IS IT SUFFICIENT TO JUST DO IT ON MY ACCOUNT. In other words, does doing it on mine take care of the whole computer as far as the maintenance goes for the whole computer? Does that make sense? Thank you.

Among those things you mentioned, the only ones you have to do for each account are for the browsers. Everything else (defrag, disk cleanup) affects the entire computer. The only exception may be with disk cleanup and account-specific temp files… I don’t know if it deletes all of them or just those for the current user.

These affect the entire PC:
Disk Cleanup
Defragmentation

These just affect the account you run them on:
Internet temp files
Clear private data

Well, the defragmentation and other stuff will affect the whole computer but the Internet Options will only affect your account and not the entire computer since each account has it own folders for all that stuff.
