Are there real estate agencies who deal with finding rentals, not just sales?
ByI’m moving across the country (to Miami). I’m going to be able to take one trip prior to the actual moving, to find a place to rent. I thought there were agencies who will do all the legwork for you, but I can’t find any! Was I just imagining it, that there are real estate agents for rentals? If not, where do I find them? Internet searches aren’t working.

Alot of real estate Companies usually offer rental and sales but some don’t look for a property manager if you can’t find a realtor but there are plenty that do

A lot of smaller real estate offices also have a property management division to handle rental property for owners. Look up property management companies, you will hit the jackpot.

You may try looking for a relocation company.
Or, check the local classifieds through the on-line version of the local papers or http://www.craigslist.com – find the company or individual with the most ads and contact them.
There MUST be relocation companies in Miami.
Try also http://www.vrent.com and http://www.forrent.com – I think those are the sites.
It will all work out. Keep on top of it!

Yes, some real estate agents do rentals, but the problem is that not many landlords want to deal with agents: they do not want to pay commissions.
Still you can call large companies in the area (Century 21, Remax, Prudential, etc.) and ask if they have anything for lease (they will not deal with you if you are not willing to sign a lease for at least one year.) Sometimes agents know that their clients are willing to lease their houses or condos because they cannot sell them.
Real estate agents normally do not deal with rental apartments, they deal with houses and condos of their clients.
And whatever you do, do NOT pay commissions yourself. Some “agencies” want you to pay for their services. Stay away from them. Commissions are paid by landlords, not tenants.

actually you would be suprised how many do rentals also, contact any local realtor and they can help you with that

We lived and worked in Miami for a number of years. There was a company called “Rent Free Realty” that specialized in rentals. There was also another one but I forget their name.
